Screampots

Terracotta
The Screampots embody a nuanced exploration of containment, release and the visceral need for catharsis in modern life. Hand-thrown on wheel, each terracotta vessel is designed to absorb and muffle a scream—a gesture both intimate and symbolic, speaking to suppressed frustration and emotional distress. With one end shaped to fit around the mouth and the other containing a small hole to release air, these vessels act as both functional objects and metaphoric containers for unvoiced emotion. By inviting viewers to engage directly with the Screampots, this work foregrounds the tension between expression and suppression, positioning craft as a site for raw, unmediated confrontation with the complexities of contemporary existence.
