CREATIVE STUDIOS WINTER BREAK

The Art of Creative Problem Solving

Led by Contemporary Artist Babak Golkar

Two Weeks. Two Worlds. One Creative Journey.

This winter, a pair of immersive studio-based programs invite children to explore creativity through hands-on experimentation, design, performance, storytelling and imaginative play. Led by artist and designer Babak Golkar, each week offers a distinct pathway into making and thinking.

Week 1 — Impossible Architectures

December 22–26 (no session Dec 25)

Children explore structures that twist, float, loop, and challenge logic. Through drawing, model building, and collaborative installation work, they learn how perspective, balance, and form can be reimagined. The week culminates in the creation of a collective installation: an imaginative, evolving “Impossible City.”

Benefit: Strengthens spatial reasoning, creative confidence, collaboration, and resilience in problem-solving.

Week 2 — The Theatre of Everyday Things

December 29–January 2 (no session Jan 1)

Everyday objects become characters, storytellers, and performers. Children develop miniature sets, props, storyboards, and short object-based performances that transform the familiar into something unexpected. Through movement, voice, improvisation, and visual design, they discover how stories emerge from play.

Benefit: Supports narrative thinking, empathy, expression, improvisation, and imaginative world-building.
